My name is Jon Manss

My craft is fine woodworking. I have developed my own designs based on the Arts and Craft style. I use fine hardwoods and materials such as marble, fabrics, glass, paper, lighting and even my own watercolors to produce furniture and lighting fixtures. I also turn wooden bowls and use turnings in some furniture pieces. The majority of my work is custom made to my client's desires. I have several pieces that have been reproduced many times and have become (line products) which you will see in my portfolio.

My work is currently in Half Moon Bay at Gallery M, in San Jose at Willow Glen Kitchens and Bath and Capitola Book Cafe. I have been involved with the Santa Cruz event known as Open studios since 2004. The October weekend tour allows the public to enter Artists studios and see how their crafts and art are created. This is a juried event and is always an honor to be accepted. It is sponsored by The Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County. Please come and see me next October.
I have enjoyed my place at Custommade.com This site is filled with woodworkers through out the United States. Please check them out from my links below.
Wood working in Santa Cruz
I started in 1986, in a small workshop in Santa Cruz. I have been producing furniture for friends and family ever since. My woodworking experience has grown over the years and so has my recognition throughout numerous artisan shops, galleries and tour events within the greater bay area.

I now practice my craft full time. I have been a full time wood worker since 2001. My cliental grows every year, as does my experience. It is a great joy to do what you  love in life and get paid for it. ! really like the client- designer relationship that develops with every project
